When You Go There, They Have To Take You In

I won’t lie and say I’m not completely jealous that Kyle spent last week in Colorado with our families. But, on the up side, he has settled into the blogging husband role quite nicely and returned with a memory card full of pictures. What a guy…here are some my favorites.

Colorado 084

Kyle and his mom Linda

Colorado 024

Taking in the condo view in Steamboat Springs where Kyle grew up. I weep for you, resort boy.

Alex2

Alex, Kyle’s best friend since third grade. They were so close that the town librarian would actually get them mixed up and they’d end up with the other’s library fines.

Kyle2

Kyle in a tree. This happens more often than anyone would think. When Kyle and I were dating, I actually made up a song about Kyle living in a tree. I still sing it to him.

Chey

Kyle’s sister, Sasha. I know. It’s disgusting how beautiful she is.

Colorado 054

Kyle with our youngest niece, Dalyla. We haven’t been home in a couple years so this was his first time meeting her! Isn’t she just the cutest little punk-rocker you ever did see?

MomKyle

Kyle with my mom, Janet, at Sweet Tomatoes (our favorite restaurant out west).

These pictures make me homesick but I’m so thankful to have them all the same. How often do you get a chance to see YOUR family?

love, elizabeth

  1. I think I'm lucky, because I get to see my family 3 or 4 times a month.
See, they live 1 hour away, so it's not so complicated to go and say hi!.

  2. My family's only an hour away, but our schedules don't line up a lot of the time, so I only get to see them about once a month. Sigh. Is this what happens when we get old? We have to start living life without our family? I don't like it!

  3. My family lives literally three minutes away from our house and I see them at family functions a handful of times during the year. But that's just a very long story. *sigh*

Glad your hubby got to see his family and spend some time in beautiful Colorado. (o:

I see my family everyday. Ha
I live back in my hometowen. So my parents live about 1 block away from us, my Aunt, Joy's my sons' teacher at school. I work with 3 of my aunts in the district and I run into my sisters and brother daily. Sometimes I feel happy, but at times I wish I could get away haha

  5. We lived in Idaho for 2 years and were far far away from our families during that time, but then moved back home and now own a house literally a block away from my family and 15 minutes from his. We love it!

  6. Looks like a great weekend for him. :)

We see my husband's family a lot more than mine. My parents live about 2 1/2 hours away, so it's usually about once a month. Always cherish the time we get with them!
