So the image of the ship that we're planning to paint is going to be traveling through the water from left to right. We're looking through images of old wooden ships to find the most important features, as well as structure, material, coloring, and position. Here are some of my favorite examples so far.
The first image is of particular note: A Ship in Need in a Raging Storm, Willem van de Velde II, 1707.
