That’s how many shopping days till Christmas. A little frightening how quickly that happened.
This year, I have vowed to stay out of the malls (they just make me feel sad and lonely most of the time) and to give more creatively. My family has agreed to exchange only books this year and I’m so happy about that! So except for one more book and some stocking stuffers, I am DONE with my Christmas shopping for 2011! And it feels grreeeeeeeeeat….
What about you? Any special gift-giving strategies this year?
love, elizabeth

I just love the idea of swapping books for Christmas! I may just pass this idea on :)
I'm loving this idea! The hubby and his family do CDs. Team Pancakes may need to jump on the LIA bandwagon! I was at the mall yesterday and it totally made me anxious!!
Hi Elizabeth,
I just discovered your blog today and enjoyed reading all that your share about your about you and your life and your husband's. It is great to use this time of year to be thankful, thank you for reminding me of that.
I don't do Christmas shopping so I do not have any strategies but I would love for you to check out my blog. I have a jewelry giveaway going on if you need some extra gifts!

what an awesome idea! so awesome to be all done!
i don't normally do my shopping at the mall ... i do it during Black Friday but never at the mall ... i hope that i am all done that Friday! :)
Wow!! You're already done! My mother sent me an email recently asking for ideas, but my mind is so not on Christmas right now. Only 40 days? Whoa... I like the book idea. I might steal that!!
We are attempting to have our first credit card free Christmas. I am making a lot of gifts and my husband and I decided to give each other a $20 limit and do something creative. So hopefully it will be a very frugal Christmas for us!
LOve, Love ,love this ticker! I am off to a good start this year- gearing up for black friday. My husband and I don't really go out for anything in particular, we just think it's kinda fun to join in the crowd and watch the crazies!
Oh, I am jealous of you for being almost done. I'm hand-making a lot of things this year (via knitting, canning, etc), so that helps. Other than that, a bit of Amazon and a bit of store shopping. But I'm trying to wind it up!
And the countdown is on! It's a bit of a wake-up call, isn't it, to see it like that! Best I start shopping this coming week.
Only giving books is a brilliant idea! I told my family this week that I'm more than happy with a couple of books for Christmas, but now I think that's exactly what I'll be getting them too. Fantastic idea.
