Girl Confessions

More girl thoughts today…

1. I’ve pretty much cut foundation out of my make-up routine entirely. Instead, I’ve been using a lot of this. My skin is so happy.

2. Ryan Gosling just saved a woman from being hit by a car, further proving himself worthy to be my movie husband. I have talked about before.

3. I can’t stop messing with my blog header. It’s like a pimple.

4. I watched this episode of New Girl last week and I cannot remember the last time I laughed that hard. Seriously perfect dialogue. If you aren’t hooked on this show yet, Dermot Mulroney’s guest appearance will sell you. I embedded my favorite clip for you.

5. This video makes me want to time-travel. Although I’d probably be just as uncoordinated in the 1920’s.

6. When I went into Starbucks this morning and saw my husband behind the counter, I got all tongue-tied and shy ordering my caramel latte. And then he wrote this on my cup. Love of my life.

What about you? Got any girl confessions today?

Dance Break: N'SYNC

This video + 70 degree weather + studying for finals = best Sunday afternoon ever. My favorite part is when they fight the G.I. Joes.

Get it? They’re plastic dolls. But you bring them to life, girl. There ain’t no time to waste. You’re just too blind to see.

Dance it out, JT. I’m feeling you.

Dance Break

Today I’m feeling that first weird nostalgic feeling I get, right before the spring. I’ve said this before but I feel like all the best things that have happened to me, have happened in the spring. Kyle and I fell in love in the spring, we got married in the spring…and with the sun shining today, it almost feels like the winter is on its way out (cue blizzard?).

So in honor of the first stirrings of spring, here’s a song from our past. I borrowed this CD from Kyle when we were dating and they played this song as the processional at our wedding.

How are you feeling about spring? Is it almost here or a long way off for you? If you’re married, what music did they play at the end of the ceremony?

Lessons from the Public Toilet

I bet you’re a little scared right now.

During a late dinner out last night, I walked into a restroom to find a girl fist-pumping, rocking out to whatever song was on the radio. She immediately froze when she saw me, started to apologize, and then said, “You know…it’s been a horrible week.”

To which I said, “You know, sometimes you just got to rock it out.”

I’m pretty sure she started dancing again as soon as I went into a stall.

What about you? Do you need to do some rocking out today?

Dance Break: Christmas Edition

It’s Christmas Eve EVE and I think we all need a little dance break. Ready, set, go.

If you were able to resist tapping a toe to this, you have more willpower than I ever will.

My parents have been here all week and it has been absolutely wonderful. I’m already dreading the trip to the airport on the 26th but trying to hold onto the moment for now. LOADS of pictures to share next week and I can’t wait to see all of yours!

Dance Break: Foster the People

The days are crazy here. My mom says it’s like elephants flying around your head. You keep looking up, wondering which one will poop on you first.

I have some blog stuff coming up that I’m super excited about but for tonight, here’s the song that’s been stuck in my head. Listen to it once or twice and just TRY not to dance…

What song is stuck in your head?

Dance Break

The last couple blog days have been pretty serious around here. Thought we could use a good old-fashioned dance break…

I think this one’s pretty appropriate. Also, I just kind of love it.

Be back tomorrow with the third in our series of posts on living with PTSD. Thank you, again, to the wonderful people who left such kind, supportive messages for us.
