New Every Morning

I’m having one of those slump-weeks. You know what I’m talking about. One of those weeks that starts out with all the good intentions of a Sunday night but peters out by Wednesday at noon.

The apartment is a mess. I feel behind I’m on my work already. Perpetually behind, in fact. And I feel like I have no. energy. I know a huge part of this is my Seasonal Affective Disorder and I have to keep reminding myself that it’s the light deprivation causing a lot of this.

This is the verse that got me going today.

“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23

 

 

God’s compassion and mercy is new every morning and that makes me feel new every morning!

I Am Not A Robot

It has been a long, long ten weeks. And I am exhausted. Tonight as I look around my messy apartment and think of all the things I should be doing…I am choosing to recognize my human-ness and just take a breather.

Which makes me think of this song. Feeling like a robot? I dedicate this song to you.



Tomorrow I have this little thing called jury duty. It’s no big. I’m just gonna go in there and lay some justice down. You know how it is. Also, I’ve been told jurors get free wifi. If this is the case, expect mundo blogging.

Bit By A Rabid Squirrel and Other Valid Excuses

I know I’m feeling a little worn down at school when, while walking across campus,
I have an actual conversation with myself that goes something like this:
Wow, that squirrel is really close to my foot. I hope it doesn’t bite me. If it bit me, I’d have to go to the
hospital and get a rabies shot. I’d have to miss class….huh. That’d be a pretty killer excuse. ‘Can’t
make it to class, bit by a rabid squirrel. The thing was practically foaming at the mouth!’ Too bad.
I clearly need a day off.
