Instagram-ish

It’s Sunday so I thought I’d share some pictures from the week in the style of Instagram. I don’t have an iPhone so these are all courtesy of my favorite new web tool Pixlr-o-matic.

1 and 2: Cupcakes. Yes.

Holding Hands in Church

When I was a little girl, I used to watch the married couples sitting in the church pews in front of me. Sometimes he would have his arm around her shoulders. She would lean into him. They would share a hymnal. There was something so safe and protective about that image. I remember thinking, That’s what it means to be in love. Holding hands in church.

To be perfectly honest on a typical Sunday, about 75% of my attention is on the sermon and the other 25% is mostly on Kyle’s hand covering mine. I don’t know that there is a place or time in the universe where I feel safer than on Sunday morning, my hand in Kyle’s, both of us tucked securely inside the hands of God.

Dance Break: N'SYNC

This video + 70 degree weather + studying for finals = best Sunday afternoon ever. My favorite part is when they fight the G.I. Joes.

Get it? They’re plastic dolls. But you bring them to life, girl. There ain’t no time to waste. You’re just too blind to see.

Dance it out, JT. I’m feeling you.

Sunday Flowers

If I haven’t gushed over the Franklin Park Conservatory on this blog already, I must be on crack. Because this place is one of the very best things about Columbus.

Franklin Park is basically Ohio’s answer to the Denver Botanical Gardens. Denver still wins because…well, because it’s Denver and I’ll always be a Denver girl in my heart. All the same, FPC has so much going for it (things like adorable cafĂ©, free and easy parking, community garden, and cheap-o student memberships).

This place gave me the nature fix I’ve been craving this winter because even a mild winter in Ohio is still…well…a winter in Ohio.

What are you taking lots of pictures of these days?

Song for a Sunday

Totally fell in love with Kyle all over again this slow Sunday morning and this song popped into my head (thank you, Sarah, as always for introducing me to the best music). I have just been in awe of him all weekend. Even folding the laundry feels romantic today. So I apologize for the mushiness but it’s a mushy weekend, I guess.

What about YOU? What’s your Sunday song?
